(Reuters) - U.S. broadcaster HBO said on Thursday it will be dropping live boxing from its programming schedule from 2019 due to dwindling ratings, ending a 45-year association with the sport.

Once the premium network for some of the biggest fights in boxing history, HBO's dominance of the sport's biggest events and biggest stars faded in recent years because of budget cuts, a decline in ratings, and promoters and fighters signing exclusive deals with other platforms.
It's a platform offered by WarnerMedia that features 10,000 hours of premium content bundling all of HBO together with even more movies, shows, and Max Originals for the whole family, including Friends, South Park, The Big Bang Theory, Peacemaker, Hacks, Wonder Woman, the Studio Ghibli collection, and more.
HBO Max will soon be home to some live sports thanks to a new distribution agreement between Turner and the U.S. Soccer Federation. The new eight-year deal, which begins in 2023, will make TNT, TBS and HBO Max the exclusive English-language home for several Women's and Men's National Team matches each year.
